This past Saturday April 2nd Maks and I went on a day trip to donegal!! It was so much fun and I really enjoyed the small little town. On Saturday I caught a bus that went through Smithboro into town at 8:12 I thought the bus would be arriving around 8:05ish so I was getting a little nervous as our bus to donegal left at 8:25. I got into town at 8:23 and had to sprint through town as the bus I had just gotten off was across town from the bus I needed to catch. I ended up making it there at 8:27 and Maks had to stall the bus driver so I could make it 😅. We got on the bus and had a 2 and a half hour ride to Letterkenney where we then changed busses. The ride was very nice and went by really fast. Their were lot of nice views as we went. We stopped in Letterkenney for about an hour before our second bus came, so we just chilled out a bit and went to get a coffee from the shopping center across the street. We then got on the bus to Donegal town. That ride wasn't as pretty but it was alright. We got to donegal at around 1 and the first thing we did was go to Donegal Castle. It was very small but quite pretty. We did a self guided tour through the castle and that only took us about 10 min plus some time for lots of photos. After, we went to the Abbey of Donegal, which was basically some ruins mixed with a graveyard and a nice view of Donegal Bay. It was very pretty and once again we took load of photos. We went to lunch at the Abbey Hotel at around 2ish. They were only serving lunch at that time so it wasn't that nice and I was kind of dissapointed. Donegal is a sea town and I was expecting sea food and I did not receive 😒. After lunch we went to an ice cream shop and got sundaes!! Now those were so so good. We sat in the ice cream shop until 4, then we made our way to our next stop, The Water Bus. It was basically a big boat with nice comfy seats and a bar/concession stand. We got a nice tour of Donegal Bay and it was so pretty and nice. On our way back their was a guy singing. The tour lasts around 75 minutes and it was a very nice 75 minutes. I enjoyed it very much. After the water bus we made out way back to the bus stop because by then it was already 6:05. Our bus back was at 6:17. Our bus arrived right on time and we began out journey back to Monaghan with a stop in letterkenney to change busses. Over all the day was very nice and I enjoyed it very much.
